How to Make Spektrum Text Effect Photoshop

Here all items you should download:
Cloud Brush
Rabies Star Brush
Step 1
Create a new document sized 1300*1300px, add a Gradient Fill layer on top with a light grey gradient (I used #fcfcfc to #e0e0e0):

Step 2

Type any word, get it Arial font with 169px sized. Take it on the center of the picture. Bold the other word.

Click the T icon in the toolbox, take“Spek” of Spektrum and change its color to #b7b7b7

To edit the “turm” word, rasterize the Spektrum layer (Right click & choose Rasterize Type). Cover the “trum” word by using Reactangular Marquee Tool or Polygonal Lasso Tool, right click and choose Layer Via Cut. Then, press Ctrl+ click on that new layer icon to pick the “trum” word only (Now, go to the next step).
Tips: After covering the “trum” word, click Move Tool and press up, then down button. Now you can pick the “trum” word without making new layer (It’s faster way to edit the certain text)

Step 3

Create new gradient color using #4c4c4c to #0e0e0e. Choose Radial Gradient.
Add the new gradient color in to “trum” word (Use the Gradient Tool)

Click brush tool give a single click above that text (Use Soft Round & 370px sized)

Step 4

To make a curve path, make a new layer first. Then, make a path as the picture below (Use Pen Tool)

Click Brush Tool, make it Soft Round Pressure Size type and 8px sized. Choose Pen Tool again, then right click on the object, choose Stroke Path. Choose Brush & chek the Simulate Pressure, OK.

After that, right click on that new object. Choose Delete Path, the curve path is finished.

Tips: You should know that the sytle of the curve is gotten from the first brush, pencil, or the other tool which actived. Here there are some sample of the style:

Repeat those trick by different syle, color, and size.

I also add light color and blur some of that curve. To do that, click on the layer which you want to choose. Then click Filter – Blur – Gaussian Blur.. Then, adjust your style, OK.

Step 5

In this step, I would like to teach you about the elements of background. Create a new document with same size and backround as before. Then, create a new document with 10x10px sized and have tranparant background.
Use your Pencil Tool with 2px sized, 100% Opacity, and #0e0e0e color. Make a crossing pattern as the picture. Then, do it again with 1px sized, 70% Opacity, and same color around the first pattern. Now, Save your new pattern (Click Edit – Define Pattern.. – Name it – OK)

Step 6

Now, back to your second document. Double click the background icon and OK to Rasterize it become a new layer.
Klik the fx icon – Pattern Overlay..  Set the configuration as this picture below.

Then, Rasterize the layer. Now, pick the picture (Ctrl+ A, choose Move Tool and click the object, drag to the first document (move your crusor to the title name of your first document, it will open the document directly)
Don’t forget to place that under the Spektrum layer.

Next, Click Reactangel Marquee Tool, right click the object choose Free Transform, adjust the hight become 30cm. Right click again, choose Prespective and resize the wide become 60⁰ as this picture.

Use your Brush Tool with white color, 700px sized, and deafult type. Brush it around the object, on the down side of Picture (Do it manually).
Now, brush the above side of the picture with black, dark grey, grey, light grey color (In this level, creative is important due to get esthetics. You do this manually).

Step 7

Upload the cloud brushes you’ve downloaded. Click the gear icon beside the size configuration, then Load Brushes..

Make a new layer above the previous layer (Layer with black to grey gradient, remember?). Brush the cloud with light color behind the Spektrum word. You can also combine the cloud with dark color.
Next, load the Rabies Star Brusher, create a new layer under the cloud layer then brush it behind the clouds.

Step 8

Let’s make a meteor glow. To make it easier, create a folder or group, name it “Meteor”. Place it under Spektrum layer.

Create new layer in the folder. Now, use your brush. Make it 16px sized with white color. Give a single click on the canvas, then resize it into wide shape.
Insert a new effect, click fx button, choose Outer Glow.. Change the color to light grey (I used #f0f0f0) with 20px sized.

Then, create a new layer above the meteor layer. Give a single click to the midle of that metor by using white brush with 40px sized, then resize it a bit wider.

Now, you can transform the two layers or more become single layer. Press Ctrl+ click layer do you want to transform. Then, right click and choose Merge Layers.
Next, transform the layer (Meteor), rotate it.

You can duplicate this layer to get more meteor (Press Ctrl+ J or right click, choose Duplicate Layer..). Then edit it as you want. I make the second meteor smaller and erase some parts of it.

I also make some new path (Using Pen Tool as before) to make shine.

Step 9

Let’s make some ornament. Create a new layer above the meteor group. Use Elliptical Marquee Tool , make a big circle (Hold Shift+ drag), fill it with any gradient or color. Then, make the Fill 0%.

Give it outer glow with white color.

Rasterize the layer and erase the unneeded part.
Step 10

Almost done! Now, make some ornaments like shadow, line or curve, other text, and triangle. Make a shadow for Spektrum text as previous trick. (Create a new layer, make a shadow using Brush Tool, and resize it wider)
Make some triangles by using Polygonal Lasso Tool. Create a triangle shape, fill it with black to grey gradient. Then, decrease the opacity to make it more transparent.

Tips: Make a new folder or group to get it easier, it will required to make many layers to create those triangles. Don’t forget to name it “Triangle”.

Now, give shadow below those triangles. Merge all of those triangle’s layer, click fx icon, choose Drop Shadow..

Tips: You can change the position of the shadow directly. Click and drag your cursor on the canvas.
Make some curves by using Pen Tool as previous trick, then duplicate it (You can also rotate, resize, etc). Next, give the curves shadow.
At Last, there is another trick to make shadow. Type a text, duplicate and rasterize it (The new layer will become the shadow). Transform the new layer as the picture below:
Then click Filter – Blur – Gaussian Blur.. Next, decrease the opacity.
Okay. Now, you can give your design some texts which may be necessary.

Thank you very much. See you on the next tutorial.
